A Founding Year Underway

Beacon’s work is focused on more than opening a school. It is focused on running it well.

Day to day, Beacon attends to staffing ratios, student support levels, classroom groupings, parent communication, staff training, school calendar, daily schedule, and safety systems.

This kind of care matters because the students Beacon serves often need more than a smaller class size. They need predictable routines, thoughtful grouping, clear expectations, regulation support, staff consistency, and adults who understand how to support the whole child.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Donations support Beacon Academy’s operations. Tuition, application fees, registration fees, and other family payments are handled separately and are not charitable donations.

  • Gifts may support classroom materials, staff training, curriculum resources, student support systems, sensory-friendly spaces, and other operational needs connected to running Beacon Academy well.

  • Yes. Monthly giving is one of the most helpful ways to support Beacon because it provides steady, predictable support during the founding year.

  • At this stage, gifts through this page support Beacon’s general operating needs. If Beacon creates a separate scholarship fund in the future, it will be clearly identified and tracked separately.

  • Beacon is a small, regulation-informed program for autistic students and students with related neurodevelopmental needs. It is not an ABA clinic. Enrollment decisions are based on whether Beacon can safely, appropriately, and sustainably support each student within the current staffing model, classroom groupings, and physical space.

  • Students began the week of September 1, 2026. We are in founding-year operations at Erin Presbyterian Church, 200 Lockett Rd, Knoxville.
